Our Roots In Nature

Having grown up in the farming community of the Cotswolds, I developed a lifelong love of animals, the countryside and outdoor living.

My childhood was filled with caring for chickens and rabbits at home, alongside treasured visits to my Grandma's farm, where she kept cows and geese. Those early experiences taught me the importance of kindness to animals, responsibility, hard work and respect for the natural world.

Those values remain at the heart of Jack and Gill Childcare and Forest School today. As a family, we have always valued rural life, caring for animals, growing food and living closely with the changing seasons. They continue to shape our approach to children's learning and development.

We believe children benefit from spending time outdoors, noticing the changing seasons, caring for living things and developing a natural curiosity about the world around them.

Through gardening, nature play, seasonal learning and hands-on experiences, we help children grow in confidence, empathy and independence.

Our approach is simple.

Happy children. Fresh air. Meaningful experiences. A childhood connected to nature.
