Our Nature-Based Approach

At Jack and Gill, we believe childhood should be filled with fresh air, movement, curiosity and meaningful real-world experiences.

Our nature-based approach blends outdoor learning, child-led exploration and thoughtful adult guidance to help children grow in confidence, independence and resilience.

Nature is woven through daily life here. Children learn by noticing the seasons, building dens, climbing, balancing, storytelling, gardening, bug hunting, creating with natural materials and exploring the world around them.

We also draw on the principles of Forest School, where children benefit from regular outdoor experiences over time that support confidence, problem solving, risk awareness and emotional wellbeing.

Through these rich experiences, children develop communication skills, physical strength, creativity, teamwork and a love of learning.

We embrace all weathers, believing that with the right clothing, children can enjoy the outdoors safely and happily throughout the year.

Parents often tell us they notice children becoming more confident, imaginative, capable and calm.

Most importantly, children are happy here. They feel free to explore, ask questions, test ideas and discover their own strengths.

At Jack and Gill, we don’t rush childhood — we nurture it.
