Our New Nursery

From September 2026

September 2026 marks an exciting new chapter for Jack and Gill Childcare and Forest School. After more than 20 years of providing high-quality, nature-based childcare, we are delighted to welcome families to our beautiful new nursery at Okewood Hill Village Hall.

Our beautiful nursery is based at Okewood Hill Village Hall, Honeywood Lane, Okewood Hill, Dorking, Surrey RH5 5PY, where we continue to provide the warm, nurturing and inspiring environment that has been at the heart of Jack and Gill since 2003.

Our purpose-designed nursery provides a welcoming indoor environment where children can learn through play, creativity and meaningful experiences. Alongside this, children enjoy regular access to our dedicated woodland, where they can explore, take managed risks, develop practical skills and build a lifelong connection with the natural world. Together, these environments offer children the very best of both worlds.

We understand that younger children have different developmental needs. Babies and younger toddlers enjoy a calm, nurturing home base within the nursery, where their individual routines for feeding, sleeping and play are carefully supported by their key person. As children grow in confidence and are developmentally ready, they are gradually introduced to our woodland experiences, ensuring every child develops a love of nature at a pace that is right for them.

As a family-run nursery, we believe every child deserves to feel safe, valued and inspired. Our experienced team takes the time to build strong relationships with children and their families, creating an environment where children feel secure enough to explore, ask questions, solve problems and develop confidence in themselves.

Although our setting has grown, the heart of Jack and Gill remains exactly the same. We continue to offer the personal care, individual attention and exceptional outdoor learning that families have trusted for more than two decades. Every day is carefully planned to inspire curiosity, encourage independence and create memorable learning experiences that prepare children not only for school, but for life.
