We are proud registered smallholders, caring for 8 goats, 20 chickens, and 6 ducks on our little farm.
Having grown up in the farming community of the Cotswolds, I developed a lifelong love of animals. My childhood was filled with chickens and rabbits in our garden and visits to my Grandma’s farm where she kept cows and geese. These early experiences inspired me to create the same opportunities for my own children, and now for the children in our care.
At Jack and Gill, we believe children should learn to treat all animals with kindness and respect, no matter how big or small.
Caring for living creatures gives children a sense of responsibility and helps them grow into confident, compassionate, and socially aware young people.
When visiting our smallholding, children can:
Carry hay to feed the goats.
Collect freshly laid eggs from the hens and ducks.
Chop vegetables as tasty treats for the animals.
Alongside our animals, we also grow vegetables and forage from our land. Children enjoy blackberry and rosehip picking, making mint or nettle tea, and even tasting hawthorn leaves. Harvesting, cooking, and eating food straight from nature is a joyful experience that connects children to the earth in the most natural and delicious way.
As we spend most of our times outdoors, please contact me on my mobile.
